Our story

My Move Project was founded by husband-and-wife team Jake and Eurika Knight. Drawing from our backgrounds in real estate and social services, we knew there was a large population of seniors moving from detached homes to apartments and retirement communities. This demographic was already underserved, and as baby boomers started to downsize, this was only going to get worse.

We decided to do something about it and launched My Move Project. From our Elk Grove home, we help seniors in the Sacramento Metro region minimize stress while downsizing and/or moving. When we aren’t hard at work with our company, we enjoy traveling, riding our bikes at the park, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with our two children.

Eurika Knight

Coming from a social services background, I have always had a passion for helping others. Forming Senior Move Management with my husband Jake was a logical step in that direction.

In addition to my work with the company, I am also training to become a court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for foster children.

Jake Knight

As the owner of a direct home-buying business, I have frequently helped sellers downsize and organize before their move. I’ve also personally moved over 10 times, and know exactly how stressful this process can be, particularly for seniors.

This real estate experience, combined with my wife’s passion for charity, inspires everything we do at Senior Move Management.

Jake and his crew were great! Hard workers! Money very well spent, it was very much money and it a great deal for greater deal of work that he did and that I now don't have to do! With my knees, it was nice not have to crawl around on the floor to pack up bottom cabinets, junk piles etc., to have Jake take care of that for me, around the house, and to be free to continue to work from home while they packed. And they were very generous, they brought boxes, packing materials, and were very neat. I definitely recommend them. I couldn't believe how much they got done for so little cost!
